Formally trained at the University of Maine, Orono, I've been drawing since I can remember. Though I've outgrown the chunky grip Crayolas and now almost exclusively create digital work, a lot of the themes and subject matter still remain the same as it did back when I was a kid.
For the past year I have been intrigued by concept art and how the suggestion of detail works so effectively. The looser, more energetic style that is associated with concept art is so different from my naturally tight style that I was drawn towards it.
A magnitude of incredible artists in this field exist, and I am always fascinated by the work of Daniel Dociu, Jason Chan, Sparth, and my personal favorite, founder of Massive Black Studios in San Fransisco, Andrew "Android" Jones. My goal is to work at an established video game company in either Austin or Dallas as a concept artist. I feel the challenges and personal growth offered by a concept art position would be intensely gratifying.
